Finstar Financial Group (“Finstar” or the “Group”), an international private equity group, today announces the appointment of Eric Blanchetete as the CEO of Digital Finance International (DFI), thus strengthening its expertise and position within the financial technology industry.
Digital Finance International was established in mid-2015 as a new Finstar Group portfolio company, with the aim of applying the most advanced technological solutions to deliver tailored consumer lending solutions.
Nicholas Jordan, CEO of Finstar, commented:
“Eric’s knowledge of the financial services industry and his international experience will be an invaluable asset to the Management Board of Finstar, and particularly to Digital Finance International. His vast experience in retail banking and setting up of new financial operations will drive Digital Finance International’s global expansion in the years to come.
The company will provide digital lending services to retail clients worldwide, by setting up a network of global branches. DFI intends to grow its footprint through a combination of green-field investments and M&A activity to develop a global leader in short-term consumer finance.”
Eric Blanchetete has held top executive positions within the financial industry worldwide for more than 22 years. He was responsible for developing Société Générale operations in Serbia in early 2000s, and then managing the launch of Société Générale’s East European consumer finance subsidiaries, including in Ukraine and Russia.
From 2006 to 2011, he served as a member of the Strategic Committee of BNP Paribas Group in Russia and the President of the Executive Board of Findomestic Banka in Serbia (a member of BNP Paribas Group), the first provider of POS (point of sale) consumer loans in Serbia.
During the last three years, he has provided support to foreign investors establishing operations in Serbia through Paxton Equity, a banking and operational consultancy firm headquartered in Belgrade.
